MAS MASH 2019

MAS MASH 2019 brings together animators, illustrators, and studios- for a chance to showcase and become part of a celebration in Arab animation. The event will include unique talks, screenings, workshops and showcases providing a holistic look in to the field as both a practice and form of cultural expression.

MAS MASH features many talents from 80’s and 90s Arab-dubbed childhood cartoons including Jihad Al Atrashi, the voice actor of Grandizer along with the talented artist Sammy Clark in performance of original Grandizer songs.

Amal Hawaijeh, voice actor of beloved character Captain Majid along with Falah, voice actor of Adnan in Adnan Wa Lina.

MAS Mash provides insight and discussion on the animation industry in the Arab world, with Blink Studio and Cartoon Network, and a talk on the new anticipated short film Catsaway by Abu Dhabi studio Tent Productions. Each with their own experiences and projects shown locally and some in the international market.

Mohammad Al Arabi and Tarik Al Arabi, The Tourgane Family, composers of all Arab anime songs will highlight the event with a performance.

Visitors can learn more about animation and its process through workshops held by Photography studio and Art studio.

Throughout MAS MASH, an exhibition on display will feature the works of young emerging animators from the Arab world. Visitors can also enjoy film screenings of award-winning animation from the region.

The event is open for years 18+

AED 50 per day, AED 120 for 3 days | Free of charge for University Students.
