MAS Art Studio will be conducting specially designed week-long virtual Spring Art Camp for Juniors aged 6-12 years. Sessions will be conducted online through Zoom and led by MAS Art Studio’s team of talented artist-teachers. Juniors will explore a variety of mediums and techniques including drawing, printmaking, mark making and sculpture.
Week One: Sunday 28 March - Thursday 1 April 2021
1- Drawing: Participants will engage with experiential drawing exercises including Blind Contour, Continuous Line, Drawing from Memory and many more.
2- Upcycling: Using recyclable materials, participants will learn how to transform waste and used materials into artworks.
3- Colour: Participants will learn about colour mixing, colour theory and colour properties, focusing on artists such as Mark Rothko, Etel Adnan, and Josef & Anni Albers.
4- Mark-Making: Participants will create mark-making tools using various household objects, creating artworks exploring textures, mark-making, and emotions
5- Textile Masterclass: MAS Art Studios artist-in-residence Hanneke Reinalda, will explore textiles with the participants, creating artworks using everyday household items.
Week Two: Sunday 4 April - Thursday 8 April 2021.
1- Layered Exploration: Participants will examine and explore various collaging techniques and highlight artists who specialize in the medium of collage.
2- Sculpture: Participants will explore various sculptural mediums to create artistic 3D forms inspired by Henry Moore and Barbra Hepworth.
3- Printmaking: During Printmaking, participants will learn how to make stamps and reliefs creating a series of multiples and one-of-a-kind prints.
4- Paper: Using various papers, colours and cut-outs, participants will experiment with creating paper sculptures.
5- Textile Masterclass: MAS Art Studios artist in residence Hanneke Reinalda, will explore textiles with the participants, creating artworks from shaving foam, fabrics, and paints.
