"The Shot" Photography Through Time Exhibition

We invite you to join us for yet another transformation of the Photography Studio into a concept never before seen at MAS, with Emirati artist Hend Almurid.

The concept behind this highly detailed work of art is clearly in its intricate doodles. If you look closely at the designs, you will realize the drawings are composed of abstract lines without lifting the pen from the paper. Now imagine an entire space covered in large doodles, with each wall highlighting a different pattern.

The Photography Studio at Manarat Al Saadiyat is proud to present ‘The New Normal’ Exhibition highlighting passionate photographers and content creators documenting our new normal during the Covid-19 pandemic through their lenses and the use of their imagination.

The featured photographs and short films are a collection of winners and participants chosen by a panel of judges in a three-month Instagram photography and videography competition called The New Norm by the Photography Studio. The New Norm competition was in collaboration with ADgrammers, an art community group initiated by the youth of Abu Dhabi. The exhibition also features the young Emirati photographer, Noora Al Neyadi’s documentary series titled ‘Through Their eyes.’ Al Neyadi spent three weeks documenting the stories and portraits of 148 frontline heroes at the Covid-19 Centres in the cities of Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.
