Photography Studio Residency Program

The Photography Studio is launching a four-month residency program for eight emerging artists, who will create a project inspired by a theme revealed at the start of their residency. This theme will serve as a foundation for producing relevant yet personal masterpieces.

As part of the Photographers in Residence program, this initiative provides an artists’ hub designed to develop the photography and curatorial skills of emerging talents. Participants are early-career artists who may not yet have gained recognition within the photography community or commercial representation. The residency emphasizes research, fostering discursive exchanges and encouraging local engagement with artistic opportunities.

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi offers residents access to a shared meeting space in the Photo Lab room, access to our facilities, curatorial mentorship, and the opportunity to showcase their work in a final group exhibition.
