Explore themes such as the UAE’s culture, traditions, and future!

Manarat Al Saadiyat is proud to present for U.A.E’s Year of the Fiftieth, four immersive installations created by three locally based artists, Humoud Al Meqbali, Yara Ayoob and Maitha Omaira. The installations will explore themes such as U.A.E’s culture, traditions and future.

Humoud Al Meqbali

Humoud is an emerging Omani artist based in the U.A.E who creates traditional portraits with a surreal twist through his unique style of editing.

Humoud’s installation will feature a live station with the artist himself photographing visitors and create a photograph using his unique editing style on 2 & 3 December from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Yara Ayoob

Yara is a Bahraini visual artist based in the UAE who creates photo and video series based on Khaleeji cultural icons.

Maitha Omaira

Maitha Al Omaira is an Emirati visual artist inspired by astronomy and poetry. Her studio practice encompasses literary elements and their relationship to form, with significant references to both subjective and objective states of mind.

Art Studio Drop in Workshops

Lots of art making, activities, and family fun at our UAE-themed onsite drop-in workshops, daily from 29 November to 4 December!

Adults Drop ins:

1-Polymer Clay badges:

Create your very own UAE inspired badges, using polymer Clay and celebrate the national day with us!

2- UAE inspired Keychain's:

Create a keychain using Fabric, felt & multiple materials to bring back the nostalgic of UAE.

3- printing on postcards & tote bags:

Inspired by the UAE theme & traditional patterns design your very own postcard to share with your friends or even print on bags to commemorate the 50 year of the union of the Emirates

Juniors Drop ins:

1-3D Scenery:

out papers & patterns to create layers of the UAE landscape and scenery, take a trip back in time and imagine how the UAE used to look like and how it look like today to inspire your work.

2-Jigsaw Print:

Recreate the cityscape of the Emirates and utilize the painting tools to assist you in creating multiple printmaking prints of your creation and assemble them in various ways.

Children Drop ins:

1-Photo Booth:

take a photo with our Emirate inspired accessories and add your very own touch on the frame of your photo.

2- Gahwa Painting:

Paint and draw using the UAE traditional drink "gahwa" coffe to create your masterpiece.

3-Imprints of the UAE:

With UAE stamps children are encouraged to use the simple techniques of rubbings to assist them in showcasing an artwork inspired by the UAE national day festivities.
